My work as an artist is to accurately translate experience into image, to utilize a medium which can be viscerally appreciated by the observer.
My charcoal drawings and oil paintings are an amalgamation of photographs I captured in various countries while on my travels. In each piece I aim to capture the essence of beauty these subjects exude; the ethereal qualities I held witness to while observing these creatures and beings in each moment. I intend to share these faces with a wide audience, to offer insight into a varied group of cultures and creatures in an attempt to bridge the gap between the modern human and our more primitive animal cousins. Appreciation breeds awareness, which ripples into environmental and bio conservation efforts.
I believe we are currently in a time of global pandemonium at the hands of man; any attempt in which to bring light upon our fellow humans and creatures in suffering is paramount at this point. My hope is to do that through the images I create.
